If James Gunn has anything to say about it, Captain America fans will be on the edge of their seats until Civil War's release.
During a Facebook live stream on December 30, Guardians of the Galaxy writer/director Gunn said that upcoming Captain America: Civil War is "incredible," labeling it "one of the best Marvel movies ever." These are strong words coming from a man who wrote the most beloved superhero film in modern history.
"I can’t believe what a wonderful job [the film's directors, Joe and Anthony Russo] did," he gushed. "And the cast, oh my God, they’re so good. So it’s an amazing film and people are going to be really excited to see that come summertime."
He also mentioned that he's a fan of the Dr. Strange script, another upcoming Marvel film starring Benedict Cumberbatch.

Captain America: Civil War is the third installment of the Captain America story, preceded by 2011's The First Avenger and 2014's The Winter Solider. Joining alumni Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner are newcomers Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, and Tom Holland. Olsen will embody the Scarlet Witch while Rudd and Holland will reprise their roles as Ant-Man and Spider-Man.
In the third film, former partners Captain America and Ironman will come head-to-head while the rest of the crew tries to pick up the pieces.
Captain America: Civil War will be in theaters May 6, 2016.
