Scott Weiland, the former frontman for iconic rock bands Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver, has reportedly passed away at the age of 48.
According to reports, Weiland was found dead on his tour bus. Although no official statement or cause of death has been released, the singer had battled substance abuse issues for many years. Weiland and his latest band, Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts, are currently touring the western United States.
Jane's Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro tweeted the following remembrance of Weiland late Thursday evening:
Just learned our friend Scott Weiland has died. So gutted, I am thinking of his family tonight.
